“The best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do.”
Dante came to TASS late September after being involved in a car accident. He has persistently worked hard and pushed through every obstacle in his way. We are so proud of Dante and all of the amazing progress he continues to make every day and cannot wait to see what else is to come!!

Where have we been lately??
We are incredibly proud to announce that we have made it through another CARF accreditation! The Ponchatoula program has been accredited for another 3 years. The Covington program received their first 3 year accreditation!!
Thank you to CARF for continuing to help us improve the quality of our services.
Meet our Owner!
Suzanne S. Lentz, M.C.D, CCC-SLP received her Masters of Communication Disorders from LSU Medical Center in 1992. Shortly after graduation, she started working as a Speech-Language Pathologist, specializing in individuals with neurologic insults. She has worked in the field of neurological rehabilitation for over 29 years. In 2011, Suzanne opened her first residential rehabilitation facility for adults with acquired brain injury in Ponchatoula, LA. In 2019, she opened the one and only facility in Mississippi. Her latest venture opened in 2021 in Covington, LA. Suzanne oversees the clinical, and business operations of all three facilities ensuring quality care and comprehensive programming. The foundation for her success is the client centered approach to the programming provided. TASS (Ponchatoula and Crystal Spings) has achieved the prestigious CARF Accreditation, the gold standard of care in the industry. Suzanne is a founding member of the Brain Injury Association of Louisiana, where she has sat on their board since the organization began in 2005. She also holds a governor appointed seat on the Louisiana Rehabilitation Council.
For those who have kept up with Mrs. Peggy, her daughter sent us this video last week. Peggy was with us for a total of 150 days. In that time, there were plenty of ups and downs. When she came to TASS she used s hoyer lift to transfer. Today, she is walking with almost no assistance! We could not be more proud of her and everything she accomplished at TASS!
We’ve really been burying the lead in our posts lately. We have yet to mention that we also offer DAY TREATMENT PROGRAMS!! Stay tuned to find out more and how day treatment (also know as outpatient treatment) works at TASS!!

We’ve got a walker! This week Ms. Peggy has started to walk primarily with her walker instead of her wheelchair and we could not be more proud!
Therapy is not always easy on the client or family but determination and hard work will pay off every time! We work tirelessly with our clients to encourage them every step of the way!
It is amazing to see how hard work results is monumental progress. When Becky first came to TASS, she used a wheelchair as her primary form of getting around. After the first few days, she graduated to using a walker. Today, she is successfully conquering stairs!! Programming at TASS looks different from traditional hospitals and nursing homes and it truly works wonders!!
We had the best time at the park today! Being a family business really does mean family. Alex is the director of our Covington location and Sydney is finishing her last semester of nursing school. Both have grown up in this business and we love that we can incorporate our family with Ms. Peggy’s family.
AMAZING PROGRESS MADE THIS WEEK!
Our first week in Covington has been a whirl wind and we could not be more grateful to Ms. Peggy and her family for trusting us through this process! We have been working so hard and cannot wait to see what this week brings as well!
Check in throughout the week for updates on Ms. Peggy’s progress!!
THE WAIT IS OVER!!!
TASS is so excited to announce our new location in Covington, LA!! Being a family owned and run business, we could not be more excited to extend our services past Ponchatoula and Crystal Springs and into our hometown! Thank you to everyone that has been a part of this process and supported TASS for the last TEN YEARS!!!!
Meet Kenny Paul!
On February 20, 1997 Kenny was a 20 year old rookie cop on the Plaquemine police force, a job he worked for less than 8 weeks. On Kenny’s last day on the job he and his partner answered a call to back up Iberville Sheriff’s deputies investigating a shooting. This call resulted in Kenny being shot in the forehead.
Kenny has been with our owner, Suzanne, since that injury in 1997 and has truly become a key member of the TASS family.
At TASS Kenny thrives. He enjoys fishing in our stocked pond, feeding the ducks and geese, and most importantly he enjoys joking with the staff.
TASS Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center is a proud sponsor of the Brain Injury Assosiation of Louisiana’s Unmasking Brain Injury exhibit. Currently this exhibit is being displayed at St. Scholastica Academy (SSA) in Covington, La. The purpose of this exhibit is to bring more awareness and education about brain injuries and the emotions people experience when living with a brain injury.
In this month’s issue of Sophisticated Women magazine, they highlight the story of Brendan David, a vibrant young man that suffered a traumatic brain injury in May of 2019 as a result of a four-wheeler accident. In the article, Brendan’s mom, Yvette, talks about Brendan’s recovery.
TASS Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center is so very proud to have played a part in Brendan’s recovery. This small community-based program in Ponchatoula specializes in post-acute brain injury rehabilitation and is a CARF accredited program. The program focuses on ensuring all clients have the individualized attention they need and deserve. TASS caters every component of therapy to the needs of each client while maintaining a high standard of care.
We wish Brendan and Yvette the best as they continue to navigate the world of brain injury.
