Independence with Mobility

The physical therapy staff assist clients in maximizing their level of independence with mobility in residential, community and vocational settings. In addition, they assist each client in obtaining and maintaining an optimum level of physical conditioning commensurate with his or her physical capabilities. Each client is evaluated and when appropriate, a plan of care is established to address individualized goals regarding strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, mobility and endurance. Specialized equipment needs are assessed, and recommendations are made utilizing input from the entire treatment team. When indicated, clients are referred for therapeutic massage, hippotherapy and aquatic therapy.
